Maradul is a realm of existence that was fashioned to embody order by the god Sevantus by parting the clouds of the Great Mist. Much of the realm is filled by deep, vast oceans, though most of sentient life lives upon its fruitful landmasses.
The limits of what is considered Maradul is somewhat contested. While many consider Maradul to be the entire realm of existence (with some religions claiming that believing otherwise is blasphemy), travelers from beyond the seas, such as the halflings of Rubanier, believe Maradul to only be one collection of landmasses in what they call the Unyielding Path. Mist scholars have a similar way of looking at Maradul, considering it to be a small part of what they call the Coherency, the limits of order before the chaos of the Great Mist.
