Addendum I (A)
Buchel
Buchels are folk who dwell among Humans. You could say such as a summary of an explanation of their attributes, or as a definition put to a single brief sentence, but if one were to have never seen or heard of one, to be explained in this matter would not show to this person the rich culture and uniqueness to Men. They would not even know what to look for. Therefore, you must be informed more about these lovely creatures, if you want to understand their behavior in this story, as the reader, you must know what it is like to be a human, rash, and evil, with small touches of good here and there, but not what an Buchel must feel inside.
To begin, Buchels have a unique appearance. Much like Humans, they share the same body traits and types. However, the most notable difference between them is their incredibly tall heads. Why is this, well no one quite knows for certain. It could be to house their brains, assuming their brains are bigger, or this could even be because they have thick skulls, or maybe it’s just to house water, much like a camel does in its hump, but of all these, it may be to house their wider range of curiosity, which will be talked of later.
Under their tall heads, they have square-like chins and cheerful faces. Their ears, not pointy like an elf’s, but rounded, and tiny, hinting at their poor hearing. They have occasionally pointy noses and wrinkled foreheads. They at last have hard hands which are clumsy, and not built like that of a human, but more like a bear’s. If one were to pick up a sheet of paper, it would have to slide it to the side of a ledge, just to get a grip around its underside.
However, it is not only their outside appearance that matters, in fact, that is the thing that matters the least, it is their inside thoughts. Buchels are no different from humans when it comes to rash mistakes and foolish thoughts. They are certainly reckless and will make decisions quickly. They are not fond of fighting, because of their past, and their clumsy hands, but they are a very great workforce. It also causes them great pain to kill others. They are not assertive as humans and often go unnoticed in large groups. They are very shy, but curious, and often do foolish things to discover, like putting their hand down a mysterious hole in the ground, or poking a sleeping animal.
Much of their personalities and traits come from their rich past. Nobody knows where Buchels came from. Many people believe they are descended from humans, others say that they are an independent race that started their relationship with humans long ago. Buchels were first taken in by the Humans, and they lived together for many years. They, like the humans, were thirsty for a battle. They killed and ravaged the Elves of old and Ancient Frozcans, and soon dominated Tighbet. They lived in peace with the humans until Kurzakurzt came around. He enslaved the Buchels and forced them to work for him.
They lived in small and cramped buildings the wars against
