Styl Sippen was gambled in to captive labor at a young age. In a wager over how many jelly beans were in a jar, his father lost him and his mother to a wealthy salesman and slave trader, who quickly put them to work.
Years later, the opportunity to escape presented itself with the help of a stranger who took interest in his abilities. The stranger proposed that Styl and his mother could be freed if he took part in a chariot race and won first prize.
Unfortunately the race was sabotaged by a rival named Sebulba, and Styl was cast from a cliff in to the ocean. When he washed ashore he was very hungry, partially stricken with amnesia, and lost in a strange city.
Left only with a strong sense that he had been cheated, he survived the next 35 years begging in the streets and tricking people to get by, building up a reputation as a Master of Disguise.
Now, he's joining up to further his quest to punish the stranger and free his mother from slavery, no matter what.
