As far back as anybody can remember, a community of tortles have lived up in Hewton Holler in the foothills of the Greenpeaks. These Tortles are simple folk and mostly live off the land, but a few of them have a little business on the side: making the finest moonshine in Gokiya. Every month or so one of the Tortles will take a barrel of their product, known as “The Good Stuff,” on across the Greenpeak pass to sell at all the speakeasies in the city. Recently, the orcs who live in the Greenpeaks have been harassing the tortles on this journey, demanding a flagon of The Good Stuff, tribute, or both to travel along the road running through their territory. One of them, Big Buljj, has been coming up the holler regularly to check on the tortles and make sure that none of them are off smuggling any of the The Good Stuff without him knowing about it. The tortles don’t have the money or strength to fight off the orcs, but one of them has an idea: instead of going through the mountains, take The Good Stuff to the city by going around them and sailing it down Whistle Creek. The tortles have built a ship with a false hull for this dangerous voyage, but they need someone to sail it down to the city for them though in case Big Buljj comes by.
