"The annual tradition of the Sellers' Seventh is coming up shortly. For those who are unaware of the Amthalore custom, it's the day immediately after the Fey Feast, an annual holiday of food and revelry and is held on the sixth day of the final tenday of this month. Some genius decided that the following day should become an unofficial holiday dedicated to merchants and their wares.
So now, every year on the Sellers' Seventh, what feels like two-thirds of the city packs itself into the Merchant's Ward to buy useless trash at a small discount. As you can imagine, this creates a problem for me and my men as the potential for thievery and other shenanigans is high, not just in the Merchant's Ward but everywhere else in this city. Last year, some scoundrel robbed a few of the high-elven manors while my men were stuck dealing with petty pickpockets.
The result of last year's issues is that the higher-ups have authorized me to bring in extra help this year. I have some of the local adventurers pitching in around the city, but still need a handful of bodies to help in the Merchant's Ward. It might not be exciting work, but you'll be fairly compensated for it.
