There was a real salty cur named Perseus who sailed the seas of the gods. His lust for
gold led him to an old hag who promised endless treasure. As any man with an inkling of
intelligence a curse was brought upon him turning him into Perseus the Forked Tongue, the
most feared pirate of the waters. All of this is merely hearsay, I’ve never met this cursed sea dog
but I’ve heard enough tales to believe at least half of them are true. In his travels he laid with a
poor soul at [INSERT PORT] who would go on to bear me. Understandably I was given up to
the town of [PORT FROM BEFORE] seeing as I was a child of a wicked Medusa pirate. I grew
up there working on the docks and aiding the sailors in town for quick gold. I quickly learned to
sail and dreamed of heading out to sea to explore all the glory of the gods’ waters. This dream
was brought to a halt as age reared an evil truth, I was doomed with my fathers curse. As I
became a man, writhing reminders of who my father was grew from my face turning me into a
monster. My rage and rashness of youth brought me to the sea to hunt down my father in hopes
of killing him to end my wretched curse. What started as a man hunt quickly turned into a
rampage. I tore through ports and ships alike in hopes of catching the Forked Tongued pirate. I
had become what I had always hated, a man filled with nothing but lust for what he thought he
deserved. Running a pirate crew where your goal doesn’t end with gold or treasure quickly turns
away any ship hands. I moved onto a smaller ship, one that I could man alone, and simply
sailed trying to understand what my father was even after. Being alone for that long truly
changes your outlook and helps you realize who you can count in your life, yourself. Of course it
helps if you have some snakes to talk to, Hisseus and Perseus being the most lively of the
bunch quickly become a comfort that I will never want to be without. My curse does not define
who I am but it did help me become who I am. I have since retired my ship the fair Lady Mamba
and live on a cliffside overlooking a small portion of the sea that I once ravaged. My reputation
makes it hard to head into town but a few people have learned that I am not who I once was. I
do not know where my life will lead me, but I’ve heard a great storm is coming and I for one
have weathered many a maelstrom and I don’t plan on giving up just yet.
Received a message from the Oracle regarding his father and left to follow the trail.
