The capitol city of Verden as well as the largest city within the Realm's borders, Corellis is the center of commerce and culture within Verden, though recent days have seen the city's fortunes diminished. Home to both the Realm's only known Gate and the infamous The Iron Palace, the city was once the jewel in the crown of The Thorne family but it has suffered much since the outbreak of rebellion three years ago. Large swathes of the city were damaged or destroyed during the inciting incident of the rebellion, most notably the city's elementalist enclave which was completely destroyed on that fateful night in an explosion which cost many lives on both sides.
In the years since, Corellis has struggled to recover amidst the chaos of the ongoing war, only recently making strides towards reconstruction in the months since the city has fallen into the rebellion's hands. Though it's current leadership has been kinder to the city and its people, the streets remain filled to bursting with refugees that have fled the violence that continues to trouble the south and Corellis' resources, already stretched thin by the years long war are threatening to run out.
