Though he was undoubtedly a real person, Fayne is regarded these days as more of a mythological figure by the people of Avwyn. A famed war hero responsible for many incredible feats of martial skill, most notably the slaying of the last dragon during the twilight years of The Godswar, there are many Avwynni who claim him to be the greatest swordsman who ever lived, no small feat considering their people's martial prowess. Despite this, Fayne met with disgrace in the final years of the Godswar when he dared to question the leadership of the King of Avwyn and was banished, disappearing from Avwyn and from history thereafter.
