A Defiled creature has taken on aspects that enable and encourage reproductive acts towards humanoids. Defiled creatures posses an unnatural passion, and carry the urge to copulate with humanoids they can safely restrain, persuade, or coerce. Such creatures are more likely to allow opponents to live in combat, choosing to capture them instead. In extreme cases, the physiology of the creature may mutate into forms that enable or augment its lascivious compulsions.
The effects of Defilement are subtle at first, but have physical consequences in their most extreme forms.
- Stage I - Touched
- The compulsion to act is mild, but enough to influence behavior when opportunity presents itself. The creature can function normally in most situations. Very minor physical refinements occur, according to what the creature or nearby humanoids consider desirable at the time it becomes Touched, however these changes are subtle and remain within the usual range for similar creatures.
- Stage II - Violated
- Licentious urges are strong and unavoidable outside life threatening situations. The creature can function normally if it must, but may create or pursue opportunities to fulfill its wants where convenient. The creatures body may adjust more prominently in shape, still within the norms of its species, towards traits considered attractive by local humanoids or itself at the moment it becomes Violated.
- Stage III - Enthralled
- At this stage, the creature is wracked by wanton urges at all times, uninfluenced behavior is difficult and the pursuit of coitus pulses beneath the surface of even its most restrained actions. The creature will likely take as many opportunities as possible to pursue its desires, even at risk to itself if it feels confident. At this stage the physical changes are severe and can even add or remove humanoid organs and physical features that the creature or regional humanoids consider desirable at the moment it becomes Enthralled. Such changes pay no heed to the creatures type.
- Stage IV - Enraptured
- An Enraptured creature lives exclusively for physical intimacy, every thought and action overtly colored by the need for sensuality. The strongest willed creatures may be able to contain themselves for short periods, but the physical changes brought on by defilement might make their state readily apparent. At the moment a creature becomes enraptured it may take on even exotic features that help it attract potential partners. The physical changes are influenced by humanoid views in the area and its own personal opinions of physical desirability. Unusual creatures may even take on strongly humanoid traits, or stranger forms that grant them the means to realize their all-consuming compulsion.
Physical changes brought on by defilement are not substantial enough to have a mechanical impact on a characters statistics.
