Map of the island
The party intervenes to aid the survivors of an orcish fishing fleet under attack south of The Ryaans. Their command ship has run aground on a tiny island that slopes up to a sheer cliff with ruins. After finishing up the fight the group raced up to the ruins to save a child being chased by the last goon. Crisis averted, they notice a body in the corner of the ruins.
The context clues you have so far:
- there was a rowboat among the debris of the shipwreck, but it does not belong to the wrecked orcish ship.
- the man is dressed in fine clothes and wears town shoes, not sturdy boots.
- the body is huddled in the corner of the ruins, wrapped in a simple sleeping mat and appears to have died of exposure.
- the layout of the ruins feels familiar and reminds the party of the Esterhalt castle ruins.
- you perceived that when stepped on, the carvings on the three center stones would shift subtly, displaying 0-3 empty or full moons.
- examining the pillars revealed that there are three recessed panels on the front and rear of each. They may be rotated to show either a blank stone, a full moon or an empty moon.
- detect magic revealed that the area is steeped in conjuration workings.
