As a war orphan, Tadwick has little memory of his birth parents. He was brought to Terntolgalan on a refugee ship and placed into the care of one of the other survivors. His carer died shortly after in a tavern brawl and young Tadwick found himself alone and unprepared. After his time on the Island of [REDACTED], he continued his apprenticeship as a farrier.
