Bazurim was a dwarf of great skill and knowledge in the art of earth magic. He possessed a rare mastery over the manipulation and reshaping of the natural landscape, and his contributions to the valley of Esterhalt were immeasurable. One of his greatest achievements was the construction of a secret underground road that tunneled through over a mile of the surrounding mountain pass. The enchanted magic doors he installed at either end could be sealed with a command phrase, and the road opened behind where now stands an inn named “Salins rest”. The remnants of an old paved road continued from the sheer face of the mountain and ran beneath the stables until meeting up with the current road.
Bazurim was a perfectionist who took great pride in his work. His advanced age
had not dulled his sharp mind and quick wit. Despite his skills and
achievements, he was reserved and rarely spoke unless it was necessary,
preferring to let his actions speak for him. However, when he did speak, his
dry wit and sharp tongue could catch people off guard. His loyalty to the Lord
of the valley and its inhabitants was unwavering, and he was willing to go to
great lengths to protect them. Despite his accomplishments, he remained humble
and preferred to work behind the scenes rather than seek the spotlight.
