Session Notes for 0.52 (03/07/21)

It's been a while, but here is what I remember from our last session!

Trying to find a way to the basement where the children had said there was a monster. The party was joined by another member of the adventuring guild with a skeleton friend and lost a member SOMEWHERE. Maybe he just left giving up on the quest, adventurers can be fickle. Having reached the upper floor and not able to find a way into the basement, the adventurers started to backtrack to see what they had missed. Perhaps it was the house, but they seemed to be going a little out of their minds.

Strange motifs were found in the doors and the walls, noticed now that the party was frantically searching for a way in. Morals were starting to be questioned... do they burn down the house? Leave the children or perhaps the parents that are trapped?

They ended up finding a way up, which though not down (which is the way they intended to go) it is at least something. The way up revealed a bevvy of skeletal remains, which upon investigation summoned a ghost that gave a drow a sound whooping. Lucky that one of the members had an alternative way of healing.

Now to search the rest of the attic for a way... down?

A few OOC notes about this past session. Though I know it was a while ago and most things may be wiped from your minds, I would like everyone to consider the following:

  1. We are an RP heavy group. Most of us wanted to explore RP more than sword and boarding... in that case, I challenge you to really pay attention to the atmosphere of the scenes, what your fellow RPers are doing, and the overall tone of things. What would YOUR CHARACTER be feeling, doing, thinking? I think last session we lost hold of that a little bit. Everything seemed a bit off from the start - I will try to do better to reign things in when I notice.
  2. Consider RPing with other players. Do not just gravitate towards those you are the most comfortable with and have the most rapport with. There are a lot of you and honestly, there were a couple of people getting lost... take care of your friends, make sure that they are being included.
  3. Also, remember that we have a mixture of humour and more serious tone characters, so we need to be flexible. It is a great opportunity for us to practice a variety of RP.
  4. I know that with virtual tabletops that it is so easy and tempting to multitask and have our minds wander... this is especially so with a group as large as ours and with those of us that have a hard time in everyday life just focusing. I challenge you to do your best to stay present with your friends, and in the moment. Try writing notes as the session goes along, or keep a journal of events ICly.
  5. Lastly, do not be afraid to come to me if you are having an issue. With a group this large little and big things are going to come up and I am more than willing to work through them, switch things up if needed, and try to make it an enjoyable experience for all of us.
