They have finally made it out of the house.
As soon as I entered the mist I knew there was something supernatural at play. This is no normal town. But more on that later.
The party, I suppose we can loosely call them that, has completed the objective. After a short rest in the crypts, they made their way through the lower levels to a very obvious cultist area. Trinkets were found in what I might call a macabre museum, but some of the adventures seemed to call a snack. In particular, it seems that the opossum and goblin seem to be a good match for each other in terms of eating habits. It is a common adage among adventurers that any food is good food, as one may not know where the next meal comes from... but perhaps I have been spoiled.
They came upon the main chamber where the cultist rituals seem to have happened and encountered what could only be called an undead mound... many skulls, limbs and flesh fused together to create a monstrosity apparently called Lorghoth, what a name.
I had been ready to step in should I be needed, since a few of the members had opted to abandon the quest. I did not need to intervene, all was well and they defeated the ghoul... thing.
All members that have completed the quest have been rewarded back at the guild house with more than adequate compensation.
I have made my introduction to the group and indicated that I think they would make a fine adventuring team with myself as their mentor. I believe them to be diverse and creative enough to be able to overcome many issues that locals might be having with the increase in monster and curse activity in the region.
On the mysterious hamlet and what we now knew is the Durst house:
The fog and hamlet came to the attention of the guild a little over a month ago. At that time the hamlet seemed to still have its residents and the Dursts were the driving force behind the town and its economy. The town had not been on any known maps of this region and is clearly the force of supernatural work. Regardless, over the course of the month, the residents slowly vanished, causing the guild to do a final welfare check on the Dursts in particular. The fog has dissipated, and the hamlet has vanished.
It is the opinion of this feline, that the town exists in a physical way somewhere unknown to us at this time. In addition, it appeared to us (through supernatural means) likely to spread word and influence of the cult. This may or may not have happened, and further investigation will be needed to see if the influence of the cultists have indeed spread among surrounding towns.
In the meantime, the adventuring group has dubbed themselves the Bustin' Pierats Adventuring Company. I do not believe they are aware that they spelled Pirates wrong, or that usually, pirates fall under the jurisdiction of the respective navy of the area. We are choosing a new guild quest to pursue, now under my tutelage, and they are in town getting some new equipment with the newfound wealth.
In any case, that is my report for the last few days of events.
