Awakened Animals

Spellcasters have been using a spell to awaken creatures for almost as long as there have been spellcasters. Sometimes, when a spell goes awry, the creature that they were trying to charm becomes its own being and lives its own life.

Most times the lives of these creatures can be solitary and lonely. On occasion, they will find a niche in which they fit.

The Wolves of Welton

Creatures created under unknown circumstances, though assumed to have involved the local Wizard, this new race exists in the Forest's just outside of the Welton community. After having been investigated by the adventurers guild, it was determined that they were capable of compromise and a deal was struck between the Wolves of Welton and the humanoid inhabitants. The Wolves would protect their farms and surrounding area, and the farmers would provide them with sheep now and again, as well as leave the majority of their forests alone.

Notable Wolves include Flame and Bolt, leaders of the Welton Pack, as well as Thard, a young wolf named so during the Adventurers Guild's inquiry into the happenings at Welton.
