About The Grizz'Urus

The Great Forest

The Grizz’Urus society is a proud and unwavering matriarchal community, bound steadfastly by the sacred principles of Erastil. At its heart stands the revered Venerable, a figure of profound respect and authority. She shoulders the weight of overseeing Trade Contracts, safeguarding Routes, and guiding Migrations—every movement and change must first pass through the rigorous channel of Command before reaching her ears. This strict hierarchy ensures order and tradition remain unbroken. The Venerable’s authority is deeply rooted in the words of the current heir—an honor and prestige earned through divine guidance and prophecy, as dictated by the Pontiff. It is a society driven by devotion, honor, and an unwavering commitment to their sacred principles, fiercely protecting their way of life with passion and resolve.

Under the Venerable, there stand the Pontiffs of Erastil—an esteemed trio of wise sages whose unwavering dedication is to preserve the sacred teachings of Erastil within the village. Their steadfast hearts beat with a deep sense of duty to safeguard the old ways, ensuring that the Homestead remains blessed and within the Entities' grace. Below these revered Pontiffs is The Shepherd—a resolute, militant figure entrusted with the fierce protection of our community through the Braves and the Wardens. The Shepherd stands as the only prominent male figure in this role, embodying strength, sacrifice, and honor. As a Worthy Status, The Shepherd symbolizes the unwavering commitment and vital spirit that keeps our society resilient and united.

The Shepard’s primary duty is to vigilantly protect The Wardens—an ancient druidic enclave—and The Braves—the steadfast Homestead Warriors—always ready, always watchful for the looming threat of The Great Homestead. With unwavering dedication, the Shepard works tirelessly to shield the Village from any harm that may loom nearby, driven by a fierce determination to preserve peace and safety. The Great Homestead itself bears no formal military or militia; instead, it relies on the steadfast guardianship of its defenders and the watchful eyes of the Shepard.

As the seasons shift, The Great Homestead must move and adapt, migrating across The Great Forest to sustain their vital Trade Route. For fifteen years, their migratory pattern has remained unchanged—an enduring cycle etched into the very fabric of their existence. Yet, this unchanging route may now threaten the delicate balance of life within The Great Forest, urging those to reconsider and adapt, to honor the sacred harmony of nature and ensure the survival of all that dwells within.

The Grizz’Urus, as a race, are deeply rooted in their simplicity and unwavering devotion to tradition. Their customs are ancient, often seen as old-fashioned or outdated, yet they cling to them with fierce pride and conviction, actively practicing them every day. To challenge these traditions is to challenge the very foundation of their society, and the consequences are severe—ostracization, abandonment, loss of property, stripping away social status, or even death. Tales of such rebellion are scarce, spoken of only in whispers, for the risk is too great to record openly. Each subrace within the Grizz’Urus, both Major and Minor, carries its own unique rituals and customs, passed down through generations with reverence and passion.

Outsiders are a rare sight among them, and when they do appear, they are met with cautious suspicion, as if testing the very sincerity of their intentions. To earn a place within the Great Homestead—whether to trade, work, or learn—an outsider must prove their worth, demonstrating that they respect and honor the traditions that define these fierce, proud people.
