Description
Seraphine Duskfall is an elven knight of the Dawnsilver Riders. A woman of rough elegance, with a fair face marred by small nicks and cuts of ages passed, and silvery hair that falls to just below shoulder level. Sapphire eyes reflect the wisdom of her years, and her overall regal presence speaks of both her status and her strength. Her armour is adorned with a fair number of personal additions, including several elven trinkets, and items that reflect her worship of the Moon Goddess. She carries herself with a commanding confidence, and is often seen with her griffin companion, Myran.
Personality
Often seen as a humourless and serious figure by the public, Seraphine embodies her honour and wears it on her sleeve. A skilled mediator, she navigates political waters with more finesse than most, comfortable in most climates and amongst most peoples. The truth in the matter is that she simply finds it easier to work with people who hear of a reputation before she arrives, lending that the knowledge of her deeds will make things easier in the future. She had taught many Squires throughout her career, and while she constantly encourages them, she keeps the strong facade of a stern commander close at all times.
In private, however, her introspective side emerges, revealing moments of contemplation. She fights with her past, and the looming shadow it seems to cast on her wherever she goes, finding solace in the guidance of her mentors and the bright future of her students. Beneath this composed face lies a sense of responsibility for atonement, which drives her unwavering devotion to The Order.
Abilities
Seraphine possesses little to no magic, but she is an expert of both martial combat and strategic planning. Her Dawnsilver scimitars reflect her exceptional swordsmanship, and her fluid attacks in battle are as graceful as they are deadly. Her combat style is augmented by a proficiency with longbows as well, allowing her to weaken an enemy from the air before she moves in to finish them off in melee. Keen intellect and tactical knowledge allow her to anticipate an opponent's moves before they do them.
History
Seraphine's history is clouded, plagued with past affiliations. Once a member of a secretive faction known as the Veilstalkers, she dabbled in forbidden magic and dark pacts before severing all ties to embrace the Order she know resides in. A shadow from that past still looms ever over her, shaping her desire to safeguard the world from similar influences. Despite learning from her past, Seraphine is still haunted by past regrets, and knows full well that someday that past will come back to haunt her. Her journey has led her to a particularly difficult beginning in the Dawnsilver Riders, having failed her trials when presented the first time. It took her a great many years to earn the right to undertake them a second time.
