Imperial Knights

In the aftermath of the death of the Emperor and Commander-in-Chief Vader during the battle of Endor, what remained of the Inquisitorius was leaderless. As part of reforming the Empire around the Mas Amedda regency, a member of the Inquisitorius was anointed the title of Knight Commander of the (newly formed) Order of Imperial Knights, tasked with the duty to strengthen the Empire’s ability to wield the Force; a factor believed vital to the Rebellion’s victory during the Galactic Civil War.

The Imperial Knights are an organization made up of force wielders that serve the Imperial Remnant. While making use of the force and lightsabers, Imperial Knights are not spiritual about the force in the sense that a Jedi is; Imperial Knights are closer to a military group that view the force as a tool to be used, without any concern as to how using the force may affect the wielder. While Imperial Knights do understand that using focus or pulling on one’s emotions do produce different results with the force, they don’t see one as having more merit than another, nor do they understand that this results in many Imperial Knights being ticking time bombs, having no guidance or protection against their own worst traits, amplified by the Dark Side of the Force.

Structure

In comparison to the Jedi Order, the Imperial Knights are built around being a military organization first and foremost. Their means of recruitment are far more draconic, inscripting those with force potential into their ranks regardless of their age.

General Ranks

Trainees who have proven themselves gain the rank of Squire, meaning they can go out into the field. Squires that prove their worth are giving the rank of Imperial Knight. Knight Captain was the rank given to Imperial Knights of exemplary skill, a rank that would make them the default leaders on missions leading other Imperial Knights.

Chapter Masters

Chapter Masters was a limited rank only reserved for five Knight Captain within the Imperial Knights. They were the leader of the Imperial Knights presence within one of the five Imperial Factions (Domain of Anaxes, Imperial Bastion, Imperial Board of Mofs, Imperial Council, Rimward Pact). Their job was to uphold the laws of each faction, maintain order and be the eyes and ears of the Knight Commander.

Knight Commander

The leader of the Imperial Knights that oversees everything and has final say on anything within the Imperial Knights. The current Knight Commander is Irata Manat.

Outposts & Chapters

The Imperial Knights have multiple strongholds within imperial space. Knight Outposts make up the majority of these, serving as a place of training for the Imperial Knights. They are run in a similar way as other military outposts and while they offer some means of education it is primarily around law and tradition. Chapters are the much larger strongholds of the Imperials, one located on each of the Imperial faction home planets with the sixth serving as the headquarters of the Knight Commander.

Population

While specific numbers for the Imperial Knights are not avaliable to the general public, it is well known that their numbers far exceed the Jedi Order. This in part to the Imperial Knights having far more draconian methods when it comes to recruiting members. Typically anyone discovered to be force sensitive is inscripted into the Imperial Knights, even if they are children (regardless of the parent's opinion on the matter).

Relations

Imperial Remnants

The Imperial Knights main loyalty is towards the Imperial Throne and as such both work with and keep an eye on the many factions within the Imperia Remnants. Typically Imperial Knights just go about maintaining the laws and order within each faction and cannot overrule the respected leaders of those factions. However direct action against the Imperial Throne from these leaders would likely result in hostie actions from the Imperial Knights. T

Jedi Order

The Jedi and Imperial Knights are technically neutral to each other. In reality it is complicated. Currently, the Imperial Knights vastly outnumber the Jedi for a number of reasons; including better material compensation, more aggressive recruitment campaigns, and in some cases, forced impressment. Furthermore, the Imperial Knight leadership are Imperial loyalists and Luke is famously a hero of the Rebellion. Of note, Imperial Knights have attacked as well as even slain Jedi before.

On the other hand, some Imperial Knights are former Jedi and some Jedi are former Imperial Knights, so there are some feelings of comradery across the two factions. Also, just as the Remnant is of mixed relation to the Order, so are the different Knight Chapters. The only hard rule is if the Jedi are in Imperial space, the Jedi have to leave. The amount of leeway in that means almost anything goes. This unpredictability  to the relationship makes any excursion into Imperial space a risky proposition.

Republic

Despite the Imperial Remnants being in direct opposition to the Republic, the Imperial Knights are known to obey the laws within Republic space the few times they may enter within it. However their loyalty to the Imperial Throne will trump this dedication to these laws if they would ever come into conflict with one another.
