A New Home

Session Summary

• Cade goes through lightsaber training with R’kela, Vels, Aryn and Darro - offering them praise on what they’re doing well and advice on how to improve.
• A Jedi Knight interrupts the end of the lesson to inform them that Initiate Chip had not shown up for their first lesson and requested Cade to go check on them.
• Cade agreed to and asked the help of his students, explaining on the way that Chip was a young Chadra-Fan who had been found alone on Coruscant fending for himself. Also explains that Chip is shy, skittish and uses a datapad to communicate.
• Cade and the PC’s discover Chip isn’t in his dorm room and has instead been hiding out in Khoonda. Cade, needing to head on a mission, leaves the PCs in charge of finding Chip and helping to get him settled in.
• The PC’s head to Khoonda and are able to find Chip who has created a small hideout in an abandoned building. The hideout had plenty of pillows, blankets and personal details - including a drawing of himself and what Chip imagined his parents might look like.
• They manage to convince him to try exploring the town with them, introducing him to his first burger and milkshake but decide against showing him what caffeine is.
• They eventually lead Chip back to the Temple, helping him pick out some holobooks that he could enjoy despite his limited reading skills. They also showed him the meditation rooms, which Chip was fascinated with at the concept of an ‘indoor garden’.
• Chip noticed a lightsaber tournament happening in the dojo with Initiates and Padawans and convinced the PC’s to enter as well, with Vels and R’kela working as a duo and Aryn and Darro as another. Chip cheered them on as both duo’s easily claimed victory, with a mix of their own skill and Cade’s earlier teachings.
• Chip was thrilled by the whole thing, gushing over the PC’s and finally coming out of his shell and asking them to help him move his stuff out of the hideout tomorrow.
• The group do just that, finding Chip had replaced the drawing of his imaginary parents with one of himself and the PC’s together at the temple. Proving that he finally felt like he had a home.
• The PC’s led Chip back to the Jedi Temple, his things back in the dorm room where Cade was waiting to take Chip to his first lesson. It was at this point that Chip spoke for the first time, saying “Thank you, friends” before walking off with Knight Holden - no longer afraid of his new home.
