Session Summary
- The Jedi Learners were summoned to the hangar for a lesson on spacecraft. Specifically the AD-1 and AD-2. How to prepare them and being made aware of the massive amount of effort it takes to maintain them.
- This did not last long as Knight Wincott lost her patience and gave the younglings a deadline to prepare for takeoff.
- The Jedi were able to takeoff without incident(in no small part because their astromechs took temporary control). They were all given an opportunity to explore and try new things. Wherein they pulled off and learned some basic maneuvers.
- When Knight Wincott felt confident of the students familiarity with the ships they were flying she gathered them up into high orbit over Dantooine to jump to the nearby system of Sinsang
- D’karo, Astella, and Rioridan all attempted to calculate the jump to lightspeed themselves, with Astella and Rioridan succeeding.
- They arrived at the edge of a large asteroid field in the Sinsang system. Flanked on either side by two large freighters, one bearing the logo of the Andrim-Dymex corporation. Stedus explained that the ships belonged to a group of test pilots that worked for him, and refused to elaborate further.
- The Jedi trainees were challenged with a race, first to hit two of four checkpoints in the field and make it to the exit would be declared flight lead.
- The race got off to a rocky start, with R’kio getting an early lead by rocketing ahead. But with everyone struggling to make real progress. As they struggled,
- Mynock squadron watching from hidden positions within the field taunted the trainees, trying to give them hints through all the jabbing.
- Eventually Riordan managed to make his way out to the exit and was declared flight lead. As the Jedi reformed the Mynocks leader, a devaronian known as
- “Flopper”, explained what was next. A dogfight, at 2 to 1 odds favoring the Mynocks. Promising to go easy on the trainees.
- The mock battle began with a flash as the Mynocks dipped in from outside sensor range. The Jedi defended themselves and knocked out the first flight in moments. But the onslaught continued.
- D’karo and Farr were both “crippled” and asked to leave the mock battle. The rest of the trainees managed to whittle down the Mynocks to a single craft.
- The remaining pilot, seeing how he was outnumbered and located, offered a draw. Which the Jedi, while peeved at the general mannerism of the Mynocks, accepted.
