    Session Summary
    • Starting location: Canth Minor
    • Jedi Knight Tekket Onda-Chen
    • Characters: Vas Vym, Bonk, Nezuel, Thrassk, Vels
    • Spotlights on 6 story apartment building, cordoned off by the police.
    • On the anniversary of liberation, there was a group of extremists who fled into the city and taken residents of an apartment building hostage.
    • They wanted a shuttle into imperial space.
    • Being led by a man named Myn Halcorr. Imperial knight in training who dropped out for unknown reasons, dropped off the radar until showing up here. They have completely disavowed him, and he is subject to Republic justice.
    • Vels and Vas look over the plans to the apartment building. It is a stock standard design, very common throughout the galaxy. It does however have sewer access…
    • Vas uses his recon remote to lead the team through the sewers.
    • A tripwire sets off a booby trap and they know we are here! He comes on over the PA and then sets remotes on us. A firefight ensues.
    • The remote remains are examined and found to be off-the-shelf models with guns added. Not military grade.
    • Vas’s recon remote scouts the floors above to find extremists and hostages.
    • We each use various skills to try and either take out extremists or free hostages.
    • On the top floor we find the extremists.
    • There is a brief verbal exchange and then one of us charged straight in, starting the combat.
    • The battle is long and bloody. Vas uses his Misdirect power, calling on the dark side, to save the hostages, making all the extremists unable to perceive them, and he escorted them out.
    • The rest of the team finished the extremists.

Narrative Section (Vas)

Vas was called to a mission where hostages would need to be rescued from Imperial extremists.

Still, not really knowing his place in this new Jedi order, he followed his summons, determined to do whatever he could to help. This was sort of out of character for him, normally he only cared about taking care of himself, but that was before a group of people decided to give him a place to stay, free (good quality) food and even free money, expecting little in return. He sort of felt obligated to help where he could.

As they all looked over the plans, Vas wondered what would drive someone to be an extremist, or at least be called one. The Empire, for all its faults, did actually bring some sense of order to the galaxy, after a very corrupt Republic. Whether or not this new Republic would be any better, well, it was too early to say…

Then the idea came to him, to breach through the sewers, so they would not see us coming. This was working well until someone kicked a trip wire - they are very difficult to see though, so no blame there, it happens.

Over the PA, Vas heard this man’s voice, and he sounded like the worst kind of person, a true believer. “Anyone you can’t buy with credits is a dangerous person”, that’s what his mother always taught him, but then again, she was dead. All her wisdom got her was an early departure date from living. So, who knows, maybe, he’s doing the right thing?

Whilst the others were mostly very engaged in combat, Vas was far more concerned with getting the hostages out and getting home alive. He used his Misdirect power on someone else for the first time ever and it felt - strange (using the dark side). It made him feel a little sick in his stomach. The Jedi with them told him that he was accessing the “dark side”, well, where is this “light side”? Why won’t it let me use it? (I have never rolled any light side pips for this character yet). Maybe he needs to pay more attention to what they are teaching. Maybe when he feels better when using it, he’ll be able to know the difference.

It’s all a mystery still. But he still has a roof over his head, food in his belly, work to do and people around him who aren’t constantly trying to scam him, so, life is - good?
