The Art Of Blending In

January 30, 2025
  • Session GM: RKM
  • Session Date: 30/01/2025
    Session Summary
    • Jedi Knight Hatorran assembled a strike team of Jedi to board Urabis Station, a space port known for having affiliation with the Hutt Cartel and the Pyke Syndicate, to locate the missing Jedi Knight Vean-tay. Vean-tay had been declared missing in action after failing to report in to the Jedi Temple.
    • The Jedi separated upon their arrival with the intent of uncovering information that could help them determine the current circumstances aboard Urabis, or to locate the missing Mirialan Jedi. As Corr learned that there had been a sudden increase in armed mercenaries aboard of late, Bonk discovered a criminal hideout that seemingly belonged to Nikto gangsters.
    • Having reported their findings, the Jedi reconvened before entering the criminal hideout. The Nikto inside confronted the Jedi, threatening them, before one of their own turned on them by firing several stun rings and knocking them unconscious. Tearing off a very realistic prosthetic, one of the Nikto appeared to be Jedi Knight Vean-tay.
    • Vean-tay confronted Hatorran, chiding him over barging into her plans to get closer to the Hutt Majordomo Fimer Nata - her objective was to arrest him, after all. Meanwhile, Hatorran and the other Jedi insisted upon teamwork, which Vean-tay strongly opposed.
    • Begrudgingly, Vean-tay accepted Hatorran’s insistence at the mention of him being her superior. Vean-tay gathered the Jedi, excluding Hatorran, and confiscated any items that would tie them to the Jedi, including their lightsabers, and dressed them as common mercenaries.
    • Vean-tay had taken the undercover Jedi to a warehouse where there is more than meets the eye. Inside was a cantina of sorts full to the brim with criminals. The Jedi, once again, split up to gather information as to the purpose of their gathering.
    • Their joint efforts had revealed that there was to be a gladiatorial tournament hosted by Fimer Nata, with the winners to be chosen as his latest employees. With limited options to gain access to the reclusive Fimer, the Jedi had no option but to continue posing as mercenaries and entered the tournament.
    • Provided with non-lethal weapons, the Jedi had passed through the rounds making use of their individual skills to turn the tide of each battle until the final contestants faced them. Farr, Bonk and Atyuna had encountered each of them earlier in the warehouse.
    • Having defeated the opposing team, the Jedi had been taken to Fimer Nata and had the offer of their recruitment made. It was then, however, that lightsabers had been drawn against Fimer and the announcement of his impending arrest made. With Hatorran contacted, he and the Republic Rangers swept in to arrest Fimer.
    • With their mission accomplished, the Jedi returned to Dantooine.

Narrative Section (Corr)

The presence of the Republic Rangers had quieted the streets around the arena, and whispers of the Jedi’s latest victory sent the criminal masses scattering. Like bats in a cave, they fled to their hovels - for now. While mission reports and debriefings wrapped up before the Jedi could return to Dantooine, Corr once again chose to separate himself from the group. He roamed Urabis without direction, searching for nothing in particular.

These places were always the same, he realized. The only difference lay in the quality and legality of the goods being sold. He wove through the gathering crowds, their lives undisturbed by the bust that had taken place just streets away. Either they didn’t know, or they didn’t care. In any case, life continued as if nothing had changed.

Corr exhaled a quiet breath, the ghost of a smile tugging at his lips. The arena - however un-Jedi-like some might call it - had been a thrill. I wonder what Jorel would say, he mused, a flicker of longing in the thought. Was he truly strong, or just a big fish in a small, small pond? The galaxy at large had a way of making old marvels feel small. It’s a dangerous world out here. And with that came the certainty that he would have to fight even harder to save those he had left behind.
