A message from R’kio as a report on the festival of Naboo
“Getting asked to go to the Jedi council chambers was amazing. I’ve never been there before. It was fun! I got to meet Samara for the first time too. She doesn’t look as scary or intimidating as others have led on.
“We were told the Jedi Order has received an invitation to Naboo to attend the festival of Unification. I learned that the planet is under Imperial control. I have been on Imperial planets before. Most of the time it is all about talking. I imagined it would be the same.
“We were asked to dress for the occasion. Last time I was asked to do that, I was on Kushibah and important traders were coming to our planet. I needed to make a good impression. So I changed my fur to a more neutral color, wore green ornate robes, and changed my eyes to match the robes. This was to appear important and elegant. The others did not recognize me at first.
“I thought it was a good idea to commission a tapestry blanket from my home. I know of a village of weavers who make Tapestries for offworld traders. These tapestries tended to be among the best from my home. I sent a message to Kushibah! It was nice to receive a response from Mitki.
“Along the way, D’karo and I tried to learn the Naboo traditions on eating. There are alot of spoons and forks. We got some pointers from Master Avak. Thanks to the teaching, I am sure we nailed the etiquette. I was taught to work from the outside in when it came to the various utensils.
“Meeting the queen was amazing! I’ve never met a queen before. Being a Jedi has put in me the company of many important people. Truthfully, none of us knew exactly how to behave in her presence. I did not say much because I did not want to offend. But she liked my gift!
“The city was fun to see. Some Gunguns was around. I still find it really, really hard to understand them. But I enjoyed it very very much!
“As for the festival and celebrations, there was alot of dancing and food. I did not eat much since, well, I would have gotten a bit sick. I did not dance cause, well the music did not sound like the bouncy music I was used to. In truth it sounded like music you would hear for an evening of relaxation.
“I do not know what was accomplished at the festival, but there was alot of talking about the Jedi order and their place in the galaxy. I must admit, in a room full of Imperials I expected a little more intimidation. But these Imperials felt different. It was a nice exchange of ideas. True they might dislike the Jedi, but I’d imagine if any Imperial could appreciate the work of the Jedi, it's this particular faction.”
