Laszlo sat in his room back at the Academy, his Lightsaber was still in the possession of Noca Muss and likely, soon to be in the hands of Dharg Raxos. He was worried, Dharg wouldn’t be angry. Just disappointed. With a slight hint of ‘I told you so’ somewhere in there, with how that drive for revenge resurfaced.
He remembered the pursuit as best he could from the days events. He figured Dharg would want to hear a recount of it all.
They were sitting in the market, the various Jedi Initiates and Padawans milling about the place. One trying the super spicy food and trying hard not to have a visceral reaction from the sheer intensity of it. Another delved right into rat-on-a-stick , strange alcohol was being imbibed elsewhere. There was allot of activity going on there, he himself of course had gotten food from the Dex Diner on Hover and comfortably ate. It tasted funny, different, sweet with a hint of that BBQ type flavour going through the meat. His attention had been grabbed by the sight of a human, fairly average in looks surrounded by Silver-Grey BX Commando droids cutting through the market. Six droids, arranged in a hexagonal pattern around him. Two at the fore, two on his flanks, two on the rear.
His attention was drawn to the case that he was carrying, a durasteel grey case with a symbol on it. The symbol of an Arkanian Scientist he had encountered before, Alyn Satyev. A small adrenaline spike shot through him and he got up to follow amidst the crowds. He switched his wrist comm to silent and slipped his pike to his hand and followed behind. The courier went down an alleyway so Laszlo climbed up onto the fire escapes and used the balconies to keep him in sight. The alley smelled of recycled air, mildew, and trash. The others had spotted him leave and had followed behind, Krenjya was in the air while others stayed on the ground. He moved like a ghost for the time being as he stalked this courier, nothing else mattered even as his comm buzzed with a message from Reyko. He ignored it, up until he and the others got spotted.
The chase was on now and they all ran. Swapping weapons, Laszlo took aim down the iron sights of his rifle and fired a single, gold bolt at the support beam of a fire escape up ahead which crashed down ahead of the courier. The courier managed to evade the blockade while the others followed in pursuit. Then they arrived at a crowded thoroughfare where the chase ran anew. Astella neutralised the BX Droids while the Courier ran for his incoming pickup in the form of a truck. Nomi used her sheer presence and force of personality to get the people out of the way as Laszlo and Reyko got atop the roof of the speeder as it took off. By now his vision was naught but a tunnel, a haze with a singular goal. Catch the courier. Reyko asked about what was going on as Laszlo plunged his Saber pike into the roof of the speeder and nearly got thrown off. He answered that it was personal.
Krenjya managed to convince the operators of the speeder to land nearby and when it did, Laszlo waited for the courier to get out. He intimidated the fellow, his blazing Lightspear chilling the air around them as they got the information. Reyko opened the box and proclaimed it a bomb in humor, causing the Courier, Grit, to run. Grit was tackled and held down as Krenjya who seemed to know him, talked to him. Reyko brought the case around, showing off a purple powder in different bottles. Fear. Laszlo knew what it was, a chemical that could be injected into the body that triggered the mutations temporarily in his body in a similar way to what had been done to his grandfather.
Blind Rage swatted away the case with the Pike, striking Reyko in the process and injuring him. Laszlo dropped the pike when he realised what had been done and Noca Muss arrived to take over the situation. They were bundled into the Speeder, Noca Muss took Laszlo’s Lightsaber and informed the Courier, Grit to stay put and hand himself over to the police. On the ship after a long, awkward flight there in the truck Laszlo told his tale, his drive in a rather short manner. Then Alyn called on the dropped holocommunicator. Fear Alyn admonished the Jedi, told his side of things in a rather colourful and more positive way, while admonishing the Jedi on ethics and morality. He hung up and now it seemed others had their reasons to pursue him. Nomi stood out the most as a fellow scientist who found that Alyn’s approach did not justify the ends.
He heard the door buzz and the door opened, Dharg was at the door with a slightly more sterner look on his face, a rare sight for such a cheerful fellow.
