1. Session Reports

The Somnambulists

August 10, 2025
  • Session GM: Bronzy
  • Session Date: 10/08/25
Session Summary
  • Jedi were summoned to Christophsis to aid the Rimwald Imperial Pact Knights in investigating an odd mystery: residents at an apartment building built and owned by Vassyk Construction were sleepwalking and staring into the sky for no discernible reason.
  • Upon arrival, both Sestri and Bonit felt something was making their skin inch in a manner that brought to mind decay and rot. Atyuna noticed that the city's bird population was both massive and acting in an eerie manner.
  • Investigations found that Vassyk Construction’s owner’s daughter, Winni Vassyk, had interfered with the surveillance system at the apartment complex the day before the sleepwalking began to occur.
  • Further investigation found Winni had been in contact with an unknown individual named Nerev who introduced her to some ideals and inspired her to attempt to create her own cult as well as poison her own father. The relationship appears to have fallen apart after Nerev was apparently abducted and Winni fled the planet to Republic space.
  • During this investigation, Ijo could sense that there was a, for lack of a better term, bruise in the Force that was making everything feel wrong. It was concluded something was done by the cult to cause this that Winni’s sabotage covered up.
  • The investigation brought the Jedi to an abandoned night club where they were ambushed by cultists, an army of “birds”, and most unusually, a modified Fett-clone
  • After the combat, it was found that the Fett-clone and the “birds” were modified, or perhaps more accurately molded, in ways that violated the known laws of biology and were by definition, impossible. Specifically, they were modified by having multiple aspects from other biological species transferred onto them, which is not how that works. The Force was likely the means by which this had been done, but how is currently unclear.

Player Characters

  • Atyuna Alnahr
  • Bonit
  • Ijo Mar
  • Sestri Amena
  • Talia Drevan

Factions

  • Unknown Backer: Unlike Winni’s made up cult, Nerev’s ideals (whatever they are) appear to have some weight given the damage to the Force. In addition, a Fett-clone and bioengineered weapons are not something you can just buy on the black market. Whether it was their intention, someone or something unnamed made what happened here possible.
  • Rimward Imperial Pact Knights: Once again the Jedi have come to their aid. More importantly, the Jedi have brought their attention to their inability to detect this (for lack of a more accurate term) occult phenomena.
  • Cult of the Crystal Sun: A bunch of nobodies in a fake cult rotting in a rimward prison A powerful cult growing on the major world of Christophsis, powerful enough to challenge the very Force itself; dealt a powerful blow by the Jedi by having most, if not all, of its membership arrested.

NPCs

  • Nerev: It is unclear what his goal was, but given what he enabled here and that he is still at large, he remains a threat.
  • Winni Vassyk: While having fled the planet before the Jedi arrived, her actions were felt throughout the investigation and the New Republic arrested her once the Order informed them of her actions.

Locations

  • Christophsis had a very ill wind Force anomaly that was repaired with a simple Force ritual

Professor Rhysio, please understand that the data set I am sending you is full of information that were you to have asked me to review before compiling it myself, I would have returned to you a report that would say in no uncertain terms that the data was made up, fake, and clearly fraudulent. Everything I am sending you I had gathered from a field study and follow up lab examination, but without bringing you to another planet and traveling back in time, the only true proof I can give you that this is both real and correctly gathered data is your faith in my abilities and skills as a xenology student and as a person who has never been one to prank nor lie for my own advancement.

Less than a week ago, during the performance of my Jedi duties on the rimward pack world of Christophsis, me and my fellow Padawans engaged a number of enemies, killing a number of them. Notable among these enemies were a flock of birds that looked like many species I have witnessed before (but in fact were not; see below for more) and, and a young Fett-clone. Yes, a Fett-clone of the type one would encounter during the clone wars. As this was a very unusual find, I was prompted by my fellow Jedi to perform a field examination and pathological review of the recently slain clone trooper as this was a very unusual thing to encounter. What I found in my initial study was that this Fett-clone was not merely an improbably young clone trooper, but a bioengineered concoction that violates literally EVERYTHING I have been taught about biology. Study of the “birds” found a similar, though less stable, violation of known science.

I have sent you this data because I am seeking any possible expert review of this data for a strand of meaning that isn’t simply that I have gone insane and have merely witnessed the end of all sapient understanding. Obviously, going around sharing this data will get me labeled a madwoman or a charlatan, so I ask extreme caution with who this info is shared with for the purposes of peer review. I am trusting you with my future in academia with this! Below is some summary information of my findings. They are… something.

Summary Report of the Fett-clone
An excellent example of a "fresh" rapidly aged Fett-clone with numerous additional “bioengineered” modifications (for the record these mods are in fact biologically impossible, but there are no signs of cybernetic or alternative means used to achieve these modifications found on the body). Here are some of the more notable examples of additional modifications:
He demonstrated during the combat with the Jedi an incredible jumping capacity. Dissection of the subjects legs revealed muscular hyper-density within the upper legs similar to what can be found in high gravity species like the Kyuzo. But unlike such species, the rest of the subject’s muscle structure (including lower leg muscles) does not show signs of muscular hyper-density, a biological quality that has never been found in any recorded human, even humans that have undergone gene therapy.
The subject has a heart. The reason this is a listed example is that it appears the subject’s heart doesn’t do anything at all. It was not beating during the fight, and the subject showed no signs of blood loss affecting his combat abilities. This further stands out as usual not only because a heart is a necessary organ for all documented humans and human-like species, but the body does not appear to have undergone necrosis, the main consequence of losing access to blood flow. In fact, the subject hasn’t even shown signs of necrosis in death. The subject’s body as a whole has simply stopped functioning.
While engaging the Jedi, the subject glowed a bright green light pattern. Once the subject expired, the glow faded but did not cease. I have taken multiple pictures of this, but otherwise cannot measure nor detect this phinonia by any means available to me. While likely Force related, I have never seen nor read of a Force effect like this before. It is actually baffling.

Summery Report of the “Birds” [Temporary Name: Hárpyia Cacoplasmus]
An avian species that externally resembles the shape of a diverse number of different avian species, but internally are all biologically the same species. Of note, within the beak of every Hárpyia Cacoplasmus is a fleshy gum with multiple lines of spiralling sharp teeth very similar to the rear jaw teeth found in a Binexan Shark. Anything thus shredded would be pulled into the throat where a pair of well defined muscles (for an animal of its size, and notably ones very similar to the adductor mandibulae externus muscles found in a vexis serpent; through obviously at a much smaller scale), would crush it and then store it in what at best be called a flash sack to then be released from the body at a latter time. Of note, the sack does not digest whatever matter enters it. In fact, there is no organ within any member example of the species studied that performs a task of nutritional extraction. They are fundamentally, and oddly, optimized towards the task of pretending to be another species of avian and killing things. Be aware that unlike the Fett-clone, the Hárpyia Cacoplasmus decomposed at an unusually rapid pace even for a small animal, and so all data was either gathered in a field study performed under duress or in a lab with compromised samples. Also of note, based on observed behavior, they do seem to perform what can be described as clear long-term strategic behavior. Not unheard of in animals, but…

Please get back to me if you can learn anything. I still feel like I’m going insane looking at my own notes.

Your eternal student,
