- Please provide a brief (at least one short paragraph) backstory for your character.
Husrin was born into servitude. A Dathomirian Zabrak, he was born into a clan of Nightsisters that did not keep the men and women of Dathomir separate, they instead kept their males as servants, workers, and cannon fodder. Luckily, or perhaps unluckily, Husrin showed an aptitude for tracking and stalking the many beasts of his homeworld, and was thus put to work as one of their hunters and trackers, providing food for their village, and keeping the Nightsisters well-informed of the locations of the more exotic beasts, used for either their powerful components or as tamed companions. He was long after the Separatists struck down the greatest coven on Dathomir, and his Coven was well in hiding, and during this fear-filled years he grew close to Vixara, one of the young females of the coven.
When the Jedi came, he hid alongside her, following her lead as she made their presence known after they felled the ones who resisted, too devoted to their dark ways. He feared that he would be separated from his only friend, but was shocked to find out that the Jedi sensed the force in him as well. He eagerly went with Vixara to the Jedi temple, and has spent years in training alongside her, growing stronger in the force and ever closer to her as the years passed. - Why does your character want to be a jedi? Husrin has very little understanding of the force, due to having only recently discovered his connection, so he wants to truly learn about this strange new gift of his. He also aspires to become a Jedi, to live out the legends of being a protector of the weak.
- Are
there aspects of your character’s background (people, events, places)
that were more formative to your character’s current personal
development? The biggest impact on Husrin was his time as a not!slave. He experienced many a hardship, but managed to come out of it a kinder person.
- Describe the kinds of personal relationships you might have had in your past? He hasn't had many personal relationships, aside from his friendship with Vixara. He was generally considered in good standing with his fellow Nightbrothers. I'd like to say his friends would call him kind, and laser-focused when given a task. To his enemies, I'd say he be considered somewhat of a scary foe, he's a fairly stealthy Zabrak, a good tracker, and a notable sharpshooter.
- What is most Jedi-like about your character? What is least Jedi-like about your character? Most Jedi-like would be his patience and kindness. His kindness, again, stems from the hardships as a not!slave, having gone through them and chosen to not pass on the cruelty he has been shown. His patience stems from his time as a hunter, as it taught him that he needs to remain cool and calm when dealing with situations. As for least Jedi-like, he's very cold and ruthless when he's 'in the zone', especially to his enemies. This stems from being a hunter as well, as going into the predator/prey mindset can be easy for him to slip into, and leads to him instinctually going for kills in combat if he doesn't catch himself.
- Does your character have a strong idea of the Force? Do they experience it in a certain way or is it a mystery to them? He doesn't have any real connection to, or really idea of the force. He's only just learned of this connection, and only knows stories and what little tidbits he would hear from the Nightsisters.
- Some
characters have dark (or great) secrets that they keep locked away from
even their dearest friends. Does your character harbor a great regret
or a secret aspiration that is central to their character? He's got one major dark secret, and a couple of ambitions. His great secret, or perhaps greatest regret, is that while he was still on Dathomir, he was made to take place in a combat trial, with all fights to the death. This lead to him having to kill his brothers, lest he die himself. This burns in shame burns in his heart, like an ember that will never go out. As for ambitions, he seeks to become a champion of the weak and downtrodden, to free them from their oppressors where and whenever he can, and hopes to one day reunite with his brothers.
- What elements of your character are you most excited to explore, whether narrative or mechanical? This is my first true Force Sensitive character, so I'm very eager to explore discovering the force as someone with no idea what it is, and the journey that being a Jedi will lead him on. Granted, this will likely be hard for me, as I, the player, am pretty well-versed, so It's going to be an interesting balancing act.
- Does your character have a long-term plan, mechanically? Mechanically? nope. Just want to explore the character concept of force sensitive babby.
- The
Dark Side tempts each Jedi differently. How does it prey upon your
character's emotional weakness and what makes them susceptible to it?
BWell, there's a couple of ways, in my mind. First is his coldness and ruthlessness- dark whispers at the right time can easily convince him to take a life when it doesn't need to be, especially when he's in 'the zone'. Second is poking that secret of his- not sure how you'd go about doing this, but I imagine that repeatedly attacking his killing of his brothers, and building off of that into 'how can you save anyone if you can't save your family' could cut real deep.
- Would you rather start your character as an Initiate or as a Padawan? I'd prefer to start as a Padawan.
