Yllatris Zinfaren was born to Renquen, a famous eaglerider captain and kingsguard of their homeland and her mother Keystina. Her brother Kasrin aspires to take their father's mantle.
While the elves are long lived, even they too have mortal lives. Renquen retired from service in his twilight years, and eventually passed away. Ylla's encounter with the priests and healers at her fathers side during this time inspired her to learn their craft. On her father's passing did she get acquainted with the cycles of life and death, or Pharasma's teachings.
A more studious cleric, she was not inclined to travel originally. That changed when the vile elven necromancer Mayyrd Peiros came to her homeland. He raided the various crypts and animated many zombies, even that of her beloved father. The clergy of pharasma joined the elven kingdom's forces in pushing back the undead. Mayyrd was ultimately defeated, but the scoundrel had escaped.
Seeing the devastation of evil and undead upclose, and knowing the corruption of undeath is damaging to the soul of a creature, she became motivated to adventure. She'd use her healing gifts to help the various villages and towns that oft never see a cleric. But ultimately she would seek to stand and fight against any undead menace or necromancer's threat.
For a time she traveled with her mentors Aluryaries and Panayur, resulting in her picking up some tricks of the human ancestries. Recently, she traveled on her own, joining various groups of adventurers or staying in one town offering healing for those in need. All the while being inquisitive for any evil necromancy, and following the path of her goddess Pharasma.
Yllatris recently heard a rumor that her old enemy, Mayyrd Peiros, had fled to the recently discovered New World. Yllatris quickly volunteered to be Pharasma's representative in the New World. While the prospect of adventure and treasures are exciting for any adventurer, the Pharasmite is wary of undead.
