Val'dari has no memories in his biological appearance, assumedly abandoning him to hide whatever deal they had made that resulted in the tiefling. Instead, his first memories was of the orphanage he grew up on, simply a front for one of the many underground guilds of daggermark. The orphanage was regularly used to hide bastards, those with tainted blood and general undesirables, and thus was the term used by the guilds for those recruited from said orphanages.
Alongside his fellow undesirable; Nyx, Val'dari was trained through childhood by notorious and aptly named assassin's guild of daggermark. At the young age of 14 and 16, the two had carried out their fair share of shady dealings for the politicians of the corrupt city, which would quickly turn for the worst. Due to a moment of hesitation, the last mission for the guild was butchered, with the target fleeing and the duo's faces being painted on every streetcorner of the town. With no alternative, the two fled from daggermark, roaming the river kingdoms and getting by with the underhanded skills they had only known.
After years of hopping from village to village, before being caught for their endless schemes and robbings, Nyx and Val came across an notice from the adventurer's guild; an opportunity to escape their current tainted life and a chance to live and honest one.
