Day 1. I am finally at Egorian, they have shown me around the facility. Such a vast amount of equipment and scores of people working to move the grinding wheels of progress. They do deliver on their promises. It was truly an intelligent move to join the Aspis consortium.
Day 7. Today was the first time i had to give a progress report. Can't say i liked the man in charge. He showed little interest in the progress and instead insisted about possible applications and timetables.
Day 56. Another draining report day. They just don't get it. It's research not manufacturing, 9 more people will not speed up things tenfold.
Day 171. It worked! It was an accident but it did! I was so tired after the all nigher. My concentration failing i shattered a vial and cut myself. It was probably the blood, perhaps due to the nitrate accident? Either case it moved.
Day 189. After confirming the repeatability i made a report describing each step in detail except one. My blood is definitely necessary ingredient and while i tried multiple substitutes nothing has worked so far. I cant just put that in the report as it lacks a scientific basic. Anyway silver nitrate will suffice as a placeholder meanwhile i find a true solution.
Day 197. They booted me. Official reason being i am slow and unprofitable. I had some conflicts with the management but this i did not expect. More importantly they put something called a PATENT? on my research. According to them if i continue my work on this topic they can just come and take everything over.
Day 205. According to the magistrate the patent holds. This is rubbish! I was working on this idea long before i joined the consortium. In retrospect joining was not such a great idea. Fine let the fools have it, they will realize soon enough they are missing a crucial component, but it will be too late. Now i just need a place without such ridiculous laws preferably as far as possible...
