Short summary:
After being informed about strange flora in the Spire Hills, a group went there to handle the issue. They encountered Kobold remains - previous victims - and dangerous plants controlled by a Pixie that 'wanted to play'. In the end, the party was victorious, and put the bodies to rest, finding a necklace with the name 'Tarn' written on it.

We departed from First Landing following the Guild botanists’ note about strange behaviour of the local flora near the Spire Hills.
The New World greeted us with clean skies on a lovely morning. This place is truly marvelous. We noticed a pack of wolves not far from the area, but they didn’t bother us. At the end of the day, we found a good place to camp outside the local forest.
It was that night when we encountered a Unknown fleeing from the thicket. It seemed wounded, fear in its eyes. We didn’t have the chance to parley, as at that moment, a vine pulled the screaming lizard back to the forest. Shortly after, a voice came out from the trees ahead that only Sums, our Unknown friend, could understand. It was inviting us to “come play”. It seemingly had finished playing with the Kobolds after they “stopped moving”. Of course, this was the first sign of evil doings.
We then decided to charge forward in order to find out about the Kobold’s fate. The moment we crossed the treeline, we were attacked. It welcomed us with loud screams that deafened our party. We saw a Kobold with lifeless eyes charging at us while a tiny winged creature hovered over the underbrush. Vines and brambles seemed to be crawling under the Fey's command.
It was an intense fight. At the end, we managed to defeat the last of the unnatural minions controlled by the Pixie. However, the Fey refused to end its cruel game. An arrow from my companion, Zesh, took away its last breath.
There was some debate about the Kobold remains. We found a necklace with the name of "Tarn" etched into it. In the end, we decided to cremate their bodies in a proper burial ceremony.
May their spirits find the way back home…

I know little about Fey, but the Pixie seemed like a child, although one with great power. We tried to avoid killing her, but she would not surrender even with the direst of wounds. I accept responsibility for this diplomatic failure. We didn’t know any Fey funerary rites, but - weird as it seems to me - thought putting the body underground would be best. |
