Full report: Verdant

The second day after we left First Landing, we were approached by a group of Kobolds of the Watchers' Tribe. Before parting ways, we were warned not to enter the Holy Landsand that the Dragon's Tail mountains have recently become unstable. We reached the mountains in the evening of the same day. Instead of climbing,  we chose to search for a safer passage, and it took us two days to find a lead. The entrance was found when Miriko triggered a cave-in.

Exploring the tunnel, we discovered the remains of Halflings. Judging by the fossilized bones and worn-away pendants, these were several centuries old. However, not all of the Halflings were resting in peace, instead some have became Unknown. Upon encountering these Kassandra panicked and recalled. We fought off this group of Skeletons lead by a knight. This one still had some intelligence, and spoke in a language we did not know. By the sound of it, we suspect Abyssal.

Deeper in the cave we found a great door. It had carving of a Unknown surrounded by people, as if in a lecture of some sort. All we managed to determine was that the depicted demon was Marbas. Behind the door a monolith of dark, unknown material that would become invisible in any light was discovered. It was guarded by a group of floating skulls, that could form spectral bodies. These could also communicate.

After defeating, them we investigated the chamber, but did not find any more information regarding the purpose of the place. At this dead end we decide to recall and resupply.
