Vamari was a Shoggti, a dramatically grandiose, self-important, proud and vengeful Unknown who resided in Gozreh's Wellspring, corrupting the waters around it. It claimed ownership of these lands and the creatures living in them - some of its victims include Palla, Asta and Tritta, three Naiad sisters, and their pet Hippocampus.
The Shoggti wanted to spread its corruption further, and managed to touch the Grauladons and Drakes of the Avis River, who were infected by Vamari's Cythnigot servants. One such servant was a powerful member of its kind, who imagined itself as a flamboyant fashionista in search of new and exciting 'suits' to wear. It infected the corpse of a newly hatched Grauladon (named Zuzu by Khuk), and befriended a group of First Landing adventures under this unassuming guise. Following the Deck of Mini Things event, this Qlippoth claimed that Kodzak (who was unfortunate enough to draw a Fiend-related card) inexplicably belonged to it as a new article of clothing, and ambushed his group during camping. The Cythnigot briefly infected him and later his companions, communicating via touch telepathy, but ultimately, it was purged from their bodies and destroyed.
When Vamari was encountered in the pond, shapes and colours shifted in and out of existence just beneath the surface. As the water stirred, the creature revealed itself at last - a hideous, horrifying thing, blue like a bruise; misshapen teeth and rib-like bones protruded from the top, forming a purplish maw in the middle of its forehead that stretched from between its two bulging eyes to the back of its head. Its skin could shift colouration and texture, either to blend in with the surroundings, or to charm and mesmerise its prey, with whom it enjoyed toying.
In the end, Vamari was slain, leaving behind a Water Relic in the form of a gem that it used as a prosthetic eye. Kodzak used it to promote the healing and cleansing of the pond in the name of Gozreh, upon which the gem grew into a unique Fighter's Fork named Coilbane Bident. Kodzak also brought one of Vamari's tentacles into First Landing.
