This oak staff is set with a dark gem which releases a curious echo when magic is channeled through it. The gem was recovered from the invasion of the Shalak'ui on First Landing.
While wielding this staff the dark gem dulls your mind from its sharpest impulses, and you receive a +1 circumstance bonus to saving throws against Fear effects.
A Light spell cast using this staff emits light like normal, but the light is purple, and when the source is directly observed it appears dark, haloed with the purple light, reminiscent of an eclipse. A target of Lose the Path cast with this staff is lost in a projection of shadowy fog.
Activate Cast a Spell; Effect You expend a number of charges from the staff to cast a spell from its list.
