Rock and Rolls - Artur

This document is written in looping cursive with almost no parts scratched out. The colour of the ink is red and the colour of the paper is yellowish.

This adventure’s objective was to explore Dragonscale Point and the Dragon's Tail Mountains. My companions were Grum, Amalie, the Ashen Hawk, and Camille. The first day of travel was quiet but fruitless, the same with the second day.

The third day we came to our first target, the Dragonscale Peak. We found an entrance to a mine. The entrance was covered by a tarp and a flare trap of some kind. The Ashen Hawk destroyed the snare and I used Produce Flame to deal with the tarp over what turned out to be a mine entrance. We discussed our plans, we decided to go down the mine. Camille was not stoked about going and complained but we decided to try and talk to the inhabitants.

The first thing we came across was two traps, one a spike-like snare and a spear launcher. I forcefully disabled one and Camille threw a hefty rock at the other. We proceeded down the mine after a quick 10 minute break for healing, this was my fault.

As we proceeded deeper we found another spike snare and Camille forcefully disabled this one then had me use Prestidigitation to make her look hurt. The plan was to lie to the Kobolds and try and talk. They would not so we fought. I used Magic Weapon to enhance Amalie’s glaive. I also retrieved a Drakeheart Mutagen from my belt. Camille made a hasty retreat from the Kobolds attempting to take cover. There were 5 kobolds, Hawk (A.K.A The Ashen Hawk) attacked one of them, almost killing the poor creature. Grum and Amalie continued to attack and kill our attackers. Grum used Heal on Camille to ensure she would not go down. Hawk is a well good fighter, quick, efficient, deadly, taking out 2 Kobolds. I must speak to him at some point.

With no Kobolds in sight I strode out into the room. I knew that if I didn’t protect myself I would be skewered so I used Shield ensuring I was harder to hit. The next few seconds of combat became utter chaos. The final few moments of a handful of these Kobolds' lives were wiped out in an instant. Two of the Kobolds ran. One was not visible the other was. The Ashen Hawk attacked with a bola. The Kobold didn’t go down so I used Reach Spell and Electric Arc to stop that one from altering its friends. This was disputed. We found some silver and decided to leave, regrouping in First Landing.

Notes
The mine is on the south-southwest side of the mountain, bring trap-disabling tools; the Kobolds love snares and traps. They can be painful but not debilitating.

Rock and Rolls - Camille

This part of the document features different handwriting; the colour of the paper is the same, but the colour of the ink is black.

My party — constructed of yours truly, alongside Artur Firefist, Amalie Yverion, Grum Silverchin and a single Ashen Hawk (lovely bunch) — set out to prospect along the base of the Dragontails, a mountain ridge to the north of First Landing. After a few days' travel, we arrived at Dragonscale Peak, a mountain populated by Kobolds. With investigation, I found a crudely constructed tarp at the base of the Dragonscale. We chose to, with a bit of hasty pyrotechnics and some sleet making our choice easy, enter the tunnel hidden by the Kobolds within. We were met with several traps, some disarmed sensibly, some triggered intentionally. (I had... misplaced my tools.) Attempting to parley with the Kobolds, I lead the party deeper through the caves of the mountain. Upon entering what was a widening cave, I was attacked by a band. I tried to communicate with them, unfortunately my words were met with claims of my being "Tainted". We defeated the party, partially thanks to Artur's, uh, enthusiasm. After a bit of discussion, we decided to leave before we drew further lizardfolk ire.
