Ollie was constructed by a powerful elven mage, King Lockewood, who rules over a small kingdom. Though small, the lands have been rumored to contain magical secrets which keeps the family strong. One of the secrets Ollie is aware of is the secret to create life through animated constructs, less mechanical than automatons and more magical in nature, such as poppets!
The ruling family, the Lockewood family, have been cruel to their subjects, but Ollie never cared for life outside the castle. What he did mind was the child he was created for ignoring him, a direct violation of his purpose which was to serve her. In trying to find a way to be useful, he studied magic craft to see if he could help her with her studies, but no matter his talent it wasn't enough. When he finally decided to contront her and ask why, she claimed he didn't like him because he was ugly and weird and wanted to play with a cuter poppet instead.
Soon to be discarded by the King, Ollie snuck into his office and stumbled upon what he believes to be the "theory of all magic" that the King was hiding. With his discovery, he was planning to leave by himself to avoid a fiery dismantlement, until the idiot annoying poppet who the little girl loved followed him. He named her PB, short for Peabrain, and controls her to do his bidding. However, even he knows that her beady eyes contain a connection to his discovery far more powerful than he can weave... for now.
