Bernadette is the Proprietress of the Bathhouse in Aburayan Springs, in the Millennium Forest. She is a finely dressed Cecaelia, a prophet and a healer with Oracular visions and services.
During Hag Hunt: Heart's Revenge, Bernadette was kidnapped and held prisoner in the caverns below the Bathhouse; in the meantime, Veshta the Unknown impersonated her using powerful illusions. This scheme was unraveled at the end of the quest, and Bernadette was saved and healed. She returned to her duties after some time.
- Bernadette is probably Musetouched.
- Aburayan Springs are named after the Bathhouse from Spirited Away, called Aburaya in Japanese: wiki link. As a result, Bernadette (and the Unknown, Veshta, being her temporary replacement) was partially inspired by Yubaba, the Proprietress of that Bathhouse.
- Another inspiration (which also ties into Veshta) was Ursula from Little Mermaid: the octopus-like appearance, witchcraft, deals, and both names are derived from words meaning 'bear'.
