Short summary:
Employed by an apprentice of an ailing Alchemist, a group ventured into the wilderness to acquire glowing blue seaweed for a potion. Along the way, they were attacked by mutated wolves that dripped acid, and an aggressive Owlbear. On the sea-coast beyond the Shorepines, they found the vegetation that they needed, but were assaulted by a sea serpent that had an artificial tail and could use it to shoot lightning. After defeating the foe and collecting the seaweed, they returned to First Landing.

The Hunt for Free Weed
The town Alchemist was feeling ill so his apprentice hired us to find free weed to make a curative potion. I (Agromash) asked around in the Pug and a fisherman told me of his friend who had found such an herb off the coast of Shorepines before being chased off by an Owlbear.
This being the only clue we had we set off for the coast.
On the second day as we passed through the Spire Hills, we were ambushed by strange aberrant wolves whose maws dripped with acid and who I found out (much to my displeasure) burst, when dealt overly forceful blows. We dealt with the wolves and my horse narrowly survived due to Dr. Gumlin's mastery of fleshcrafting which allowed us to keep a fast pace on the road. The journey continued and as we crested a hill we came upon a resident artist of First Landing named Robbie Bossanova finishing a painting of the Shorepines. After a short conversation we parted ways and travelled a bit further before setting up camp in the hills.
As we descended from the hills and into the forest we came across a logger trapped under a tree and Zedran was able to move the log and free the man. The logger thanked us and we noticed him marking trees with a knife to warn other members of his logging company. Dr. Gremlin identified one mark as meaning danger, this mark was composed of a circle with a cross within it. We made camp after this encounter as our travels through the forest slowed us down.
On the fourth day we came across a cave and I (Agromash) was able to identify owlbear tracks and Dr. Gumlin discovered a new logger sign of jagged marks that looked like teeth which means predator. As we examined these tracks and signs the Owlbear burst out of the forest screeching. Zedran lost his nerve and fled into the forest while the bear charged me. The bear mauled me severely during the fight, tearing me open and feasting on my innards and if not for the ministrations of Frose I would have most certainly died. After we barely survived this fight we searched the cave and found the body of a logger but not much else. We continued our way to the nearby beach and I (Agromash) spotted the blue glow of the seaweed we were searching for about 30 feet out into the water. Zedran and I swam out but noticed a large creature swimming towards us in the seaweed. Luckily we made it to shore just before it attacked. It rose from the waters and shot lightning from its tale which knocked me unconscious immediately. Dr. Gumlin revived me and we managed to best the serpent in combat with not as much damage taken as from the bear. We did not have the presence of mind to inspect the serpents body but its tail appeared to be man-made and grafted onto it. We collected the seaweed and made our way back to town as soon as possible after the fight.
