Loose threads: Unrestful Dead, weird library inhabitants, grumpy Vampires, and one noisy-ass musically inclined Lich
Participants: Kayzen, Oskar Dragonlance, Dretal, Wayselm Davrell
Locations: The Great Library, a small Cold Spot along the way
Short summary: The group sets off to tell the Skeleton Bard, in polite terms, to turn the damn volume down. On the way they encounter an unnatural cold (Cold Spot haunt), the result of a gathering of Spirits, who are put to rest peacefully by Oskar. Confusion abounds at the entrance to the Library due to the language barriers. Lich proposes a deadly game of hide-and-seek in order to get them to quiet down, which they do after the adventurers dispatch the Zombie assassin sent after them. A weird librarian thing in a backroom, who had been detained for issuing prior noise complaints (it seems), was then freed by the group, and the Lich's stuff rifled through as a reward for winning.
Full Report
The travel to the Library is largely uneventful until the group reaches a spot of supernatural cold. Not caused by Fiends, as initially speculated, it was instead the result of unquiet dead, though there were no obvious signs of battle and death nearby. Oskar Dragonlance ushered the dead to their final peace with a small religious ceremony.
Travel continued uneventfully.
As the group approached the entrance to the library, they cut four Vampire youths (an Unknown, a Gnoll, a Human Guild scout, and a Pixie) in line before encountering a Zombie bouncer who asks, in Elven and then Necril, for proof of drinking age before entry. The group fumbles a bit due to the language barriers but show their Guild badges to the bouncer, granting them entry to the dance floor.
Thereupon, thrilled to have new contestants and conjuring up illusory beards, the Skeleton Lich Bard begins the contest, unleashing an Undead assassin onto the dance floor. The assassin weaved through the dancing throngs as he harried the adventurers, the Bard strumming all the while, offering up inspiring song to adventurer and assassin alike, notably at one point reversing the gravity, annihilating several Undead partygoers. But the adventurers won out in the end, slaying the assassin, satisfying the Lich (who then dissapeared via smoke bomb), and freeing a librarian(?).
