Full Report
Tuesday managed to recruit people interested in technology in their search to replace their previously best friend and current eidolon Riley with a construct that would be more loyal and a lot less frustrating to deal with. The group met at the pug and started discussing on possible location to investigate to find lost clockwork and other construct technology. After talking about previous reports submitted to the guild, the party decides to go to the Space Mountain.
The party wanted to do the most of the travel to the Mountain, so they decided to stop along the way to investigate the different point of interest along the way. The first of these being Javervale, which also ended up being the end of their search for interesting technology.
The gates of the village closes at night, so our first interaction with the village was with a guard unwilling to open the gate and let us rest at the in. It is a coalition town that is currently under occupation from the Republic. Guards are a mix or people from both faction and the village seems to be still trading with other cities from the Coalition. A tower is high in the middle of the village and mirrors can be found all around town for some strange reasons. Once in town, we asked around about machinery and found out that the docks are mainly operated by the Republic and is the hub of commerce for the town. Mechanical horses are working hard to unload ships, and the dock is always under surveillance.
Fortunately Zinthu Jadegazer was able to act as our translator for our stay, most of the town speaking or understanding goblin.
The party was unable to get information about where the machines where manufactured and tried their luck by knocking on the town Mayor's house. A gnoll who likes to dress well named Clay Vertebra in Stars (seems to understand goblin quite well), is the mayor and his greed is easy to see. The occupation of his town doesn't seem to bother him as long as the flow of merchandises continues, in fact he seems to think that the current occupation of his town can become a boon by playing the right cards. If dealt with carefully and promised help (and financial compensation), he can probably be a good ally to anyone who is in need of information about the town and the Republic occupant, the Astrodius family. He doesn't seem to want to acknowledge the current war and seems busy to secure a peaceful occupation for his wallet and his people.
The mayor was able to both confirm the kidnapping of Mesper Sorgowin as well as to secure one of the Republic's machine for trade. Once pressed for information about Mesper's location, the mayor made it clear that he couldn't give us anything more otherwise the town would suffer from their occupant.
With a trade deal secure, the party tried to gather some useful information on how to make money around town. It seems like some gnolls and catfolks are not very happy about the republic takeover and would be happy to deal to them some payback as long as it would not come back to them. They also discussed about sighting of a strange massive flying beast in the area, afraid that the town wall would do little to protect them.
The easiest way to make money seemed to go on a hunting trip in the nearby forest. After some time, we were able to find and follow some strange trail that happened to belong to a pair of giant spiders which were quickly dismissed before being harvested.
Back in town, we were able to sell the harvested poison and conduct the transaction for the Republic machinery with the Mayor.
