Erace used to come from a family whose profession would not be considered on the up, selling things that most people would consider scams, selling fake magic items, and such. She never agreed with this mentality, while loving the shadows like most Fetchlings she feels like this type of trickery is below her.
When she grew up she left that life behind, and to mostly spite her past, joined an investigation guild in her old home, learning from the best and using her knowledge of the shadows and the underworld to fight against it.
When she first heard of this opportunity, and another excuse to distance herself further from her past, she took the opportunity and is now willing to take her chances in the New World.
