The Republic has been harassing the Fey Baronies with logging camps, upsetting the local Dryads and wildlife; Vesper remains as boring as ever; a strange Jackalope - a antlered squirrel - has been the source of chaotic antics in the Fey realm and has been the target of Asculith’s hunt

Participants: Zinlynndise ImareReiko AmiriGharokHecret

Locations: Millennium Forest, edges of Eleutheria, the Purple Barony, Temple of the Two Suns, approach to the Copper Mountain

Short summary:

The party ventured forth to deliver invitations for the Second Annual Lunar New Year Tournament festival to important figures in the New World. Timothy Ventura tasked these four with delivering to Lord Asculith, Lord Attys, and Lady Vesper. The party helped out with issues with a Jackalope and Republican Loggers, and all three individuals agreed to attend.

Full Report

The quest report opens up formally with a familiar set of Druidic runes upon the page, demarking the writer as a friend.

Zinlynndise here. Still alive, I suppose, as well as I can these days. And back on the trail again, this time handling a simple delivery. Or at least it seemed like it - we were tasked with helping out these important individuals to ensure their attendance, and that turned simple into tricky pretty quick. Anyhoo, I broke up our adventure into three parts, based on each person we invited.

Part 1: Asculith

So Lord Asculith, the former king of the Millennium Woods, which is right on our doorstep. Finding him was quick and easy - especially with what Reiko knows about him. He likes to hunt, a lot, and that’s how we found him - hunting. His quarry was a scary looking Daeodon, though the beast hardly seemed to worry Asculith. In fact, a rare Jackalope ran past, completely distracting the hunter into giving chase. Oh, and the Daeodon spotted us in the ruckus, so we had to fight it off.

Ugh, I can understand hunting for food, but I got the feeling Asculith was doing this for sport. He’s told stories of hunting megafauna on land and sea even. Just cus. Kinda left a bad taste in my mouth, but a Daeodon charging us left us little choice but to defend ourselves. Which we handled pretty easily.

The first time at least. Then that Jackalope came back, fed the boar some weird ‘seed’ or something like that - oh, I’m told it was a ‘pill’ - and the  boar suddenly grew twice as big, sprouted electrified white fur, antlers, and a rabbit-like scream. Like it turned into a boar Jackalope, with dangerous electrifying tusks. Still a little clumsy like ordinary boars, but much much scarier. It could leap like it was flying, crash into the ground, and I swear once those tusks swing they don’t miss short of a miracle. Those tusks hurt.

But hey, I lived to write this tale - so we beat it. Aaaaaannnnddd… I quite frankly don’t know the details of what happened after that. We were investigating what caused the transformation and I just couldn’t stick around. Hecret and Reiko should know more about that.

We found Asculith ensnared in a rope trap, lured there by the Jackalope. He didn’t even seem that bothered - more impressed if anything. Apparently it was something the rabbit set up. Honestly, the critter’s proving itself to be really smart - is it right to even hunt it? I dunno, I’ll just tut tut in disapproval either way.

We then set up a small camp and had a meal of the Boar while we caught up a little with Asculith’s adventures - and his history with Reiko. Apparently they knew each other from the Fey Wedding a year or so back. I think she likes him, it's kinda cute.

Part 2: Attys

With Asculith wrapped up, we said our goodbyes and made our way to the Elemental Shrine to portal on over towards the Temple of the Two Suns. This part of our adventure I think was us overthinking all the simplest of things. How do we cross the lake? Use a big row boat? Nah, Marsyas was there in quick fashion. Weird stuff like that with straightforward answers. Kinda silly in retrospect.

I got a sending message from my mother around this time. Mom (not you Beth, you’re great), if you’re reading this, I’M FIIIIIIIIINNNNNNEEEEEEEE. Gosh.

Oh, and Reiko got the idea to cast Sending to Attys to let him know of our approach. Marsyas arrived, escorted us to the Copper Mountain in the Eastern Parts of Eleutheria. We might be one of the first Guild members to cross those mountains, so I took some notes of what the area looked like.

Attys then arrived, elegant as always, ready to receive his package. And he had just the task in mind to recruit our help for too. So it seems the Republic, yup those jerks, have been poking around in the Fey lands of all things, being a menace to the forest. Which, like, anyone can see is just dumb and mean to do. Still, I didn’t want to kill anyone for wanting some firewood, so I insisted we ask nicely first. And not so nicely second. Then not not not so nice third.

Despite all the planning and thought that went into trying to get them to leave without a fight… Reiko pretty much single-handedly solved that problem with a few words and a fireball. It was amazing, and maybe a tad scary to be on the opposite side of whatever Reiko wants. Kudos though!

Part 3: Vesper

We met back with Attys and he brought his sister Vesper to the meeting for our delivery. She… just took the package and agreed. No request or quest or challenge to complete or favour to help out with. It kinda was refreshing, I guess. I don’t really know what to say here. We all just went home after that.
