Full Report
An inventor called for our aid to help him deal with a project gone awry, his own intelligent and emotionally-uplifted automata seeming poised to find and kill him in retribution for being stuck in his basement, and his reinforced doors not likely to hold out forever. By "deal with" he probably meant destroy, and Gallias was happy to, but Leon and Cati preferred establishing negotiations. (They're a Gorum follower, automaton, and Jaidz follower respectively, so it follows. Archie and I didn't mind negotiations either.) We asked for details, then for Orryn to keep clear of the area.
Downstairs, we met a group headed by an automaton calling themself Ebet. They were looking for a fight, which Gallias accepted. After she soundly trashed an animated armor set in a duel, they were *less* keen on a fight, and were promised Orryn's notes. Further down, a huge stone one spoke of completing a "ritual" to kill Orryn and a "lord" being freed to kill all organic life, being "the ancient one responsible for bringing (the constructs) to life" or somesuch. It promised to show Leon its voice, and Gallias and I thought this might be the "taint" plaguing this land, but Leon didn't hear anything. Since no other automatons in the area heard it either, it's unclear if the stone giant was delusional or not; we promptly destroyed them, so we might never know.
Lastly, we encountered a small spider construct who asked us to surrender our weapons for entry into the "Storage Room #5 Kingdom", where we met with a stuffed doll hailed as King Widol VII, with ambitions to rule all of Orryn's basements. The "zealot giant" being destroyed, Ebet cowed, Orryn's land being given over, and a piece of coal per month were enough to appease him.
