The Rusted Scourge
Retired PC

Lagos, the sole child born to a great blacksmith. Not knowing his father, he grew up living in a relatively small mountain town. Following his mother's footsteps, he helped her with the forge from his early childhood all the way to her passing. During his childhood he would discover his heritage and affinity towards metal. Able to influence the properties of the metals he worked on and hone the craftsmanship he quickly made a name for himself beyond his mother's work.

After his mother's untimely death, he left the forge to a family friend, unable to bear the burden of home and running the forge without her. He sought something beyond her work and her legacy. He sought to find something or be a part of something he could be proud of and return home when ready to bear the responsibility of her work as a new man. During his travels, his lack of hearing proved a challenge. He had to stumble with no idea that sound made a huge difference in the wilds. If not for his innate elemental affinity to summon, conjure, and transmute the metals around him he would have died many times. He came across a blind man, weeks into his travel, who was keenly aware of his surroundings that taught him numerous things about his power and heritage. He claimed to have been sent by his father after learning of his mother's passing. Content to learn more about his power, which once remained a mystery and point of self-consciousness, is now a point of pride.

He fondly remembers during his travels was when he took in Maliketh. Traveling with the blind man, Lagos came across a den of velociraptors while looking for a place to rest for the night. Wanting to avoid confrontation he left the cave and began the trek down the river to return to the blind man. However, before he could he spotted a couple of the velociraptors attacking one of their own, an albino cub. Three of the velociraptors were attempting to kill the cub and would have if Lagos did not stop them. Having torn one of the poor cub's legs and tearing the tail to shreds, the beast surely would have died. Lagos took the cub and nursed it back to health with the aid of the old man.

Over the years he honed his craft and created prosthetics for Maliketh. As the beast grew, so did their bond. Eventually, the old man who was satisfied with Lagos' growth had to return to his father, but before he did he gave Lagos a ring. The blind man, instructed to only give the ring to him if deemed worthy also informed Lagos of a place he could go to to both learn far more than he could imagine, but gain access to resources far beyond the unimaginable!

Death of Lagos

Selementai Sanctum

A brisk and cool wind carries the scent of bitter metallic and a strange musk. Lagos had sectioned off a portion of the land claimed by the Super Selementai to establish his forge, where he tinkered with armor, improved Maliketh's prosthetics, and brewed ideas to craft.

Whoever may have discovered the scene finds Lagos in this area, his blood pooled and dark with his left arm and right leg severed as he cradles a dead Maliketh. Streaks of blood reveal he crawled to his beloved companion. It's clear Lagos died in pain but Maliketh died quickly guessing from the wound. His left arm is atrophied and looks void of all moisture. His leg is not tampered with in the way his arm was.

The ring worn on his left arm is gone. Investigating the surrounding area finds his forge in disarray suggesting a scuffle occurred in his tented area. Metal of all kinds, sizes, and states are littered in the area; a trademark of Lagos using his kinetic element. Lagos' wounds are from slashing and piercing of some kind and remarkably well placed; someone or something of great skill killed him. Additionally his Gate Attenuator is also missing and trauma wounds around his torso where he wore it point to it having been torn off dead body without much care.

It is unknown when this event took place as the grounds are normally often empty due to their construction not being completed yet. Lagos has also often been known to work late into the night and early morning when no one else is around.

There is little doubt in the eyes of the original Super Selementai members that his was the work of Septus. However it seems he only collected the ring and did not do the fighting himself. A blade user of some kind had that honor. The questions that remain are how did Septus arrive in First Landing without being detected? Who killed Lagos? Where did his Gate Attenuator go?
