A cleric of Sekhmet, daughter of a noble family that began to fall from its wealth and status even before her birth. Falling under the sway of an occult cult of hedonism and violence, her time spent among them led to her rising in their ranks as she drank in their beliefs and practices. This culminated in a ritual of deeper initiation, presumably dedicated to the Lady of Slaughter herself. The ritual went just a bit too well, ending with Adelina changed into her current state. Leaving the remains of that branch behind, she could only expect ostracization for what she'd become, and went into seclusion.

Nobody but Adelina and perhaps Sekhmet herself knows what happened over those weeks or months, but she emerged with renewed and deepened faith, having accepted her nature and found purpose, keeping only her given name from what she considered all but a past life. Traveling into the Lady's native deserts to join her followers and clergy among the Shemtej, she delved into their faith and knowledge to reach a deeper understanding of the one she worshiped, but never intended to stay. Once she had learned all she could, recognized by her fellow devout, she departed to practice her faith in a more active fashion. Some part of her remained the tempestuous lady who'd first fallen in with that cult, she chose to serve her Lady through both violence and healing in the work of an adventurer.

That path led her to the Explorer's Guild, and she eagerly joined those setting out to what laid beyond the portal. Seeing the new world as a garden of new experiences and fertile grounds for her to spread Sekhmet's name, she set forth as both an explorer and priestess.
