The Visage Itself is the namesake of the Fey hamlet of Visage, in Eleutheria, the Purple Barony. There is some suggestion that this rock formation might or might not be, or have been, alive. Its mere presence seems to be influencing the residents and visitors of the hamlet.

Even though the Visage Itself is still worshipped in some manner, it used to have actual clergy once, according to Space Insect. Hyalos seems to know more about why this is no longer the case.

Deep within the chambers of the Visage Itself, a bowl was discovered. Upon it, winding in three concentric rings along the rim, there is an inscription in Draconic:

Outer Ring

By three, it came,

From the distant stars,
A dead and fallen star –
A trifold face, to scar
The face of our world.

By three, it came,

From the distant sky,
Tore open our skies –
A gem, a flame that cries,
And emptiness within.

By three, it came,

From the distant reach,
And for our lands it reached.
Before the veil was breached,
We halted its descent.

Middle Ring

By three, it changed;

Its polished surface shines.
Encrypted in that shine,
As our will designed,
Rich stories of a traveler.

By three, it changed;
Its flicker – all the colours.
And within each colour,
Never weaker nor duller
A song of shackled plight.

By three, it changed

Its void longs to fill.
For hunger to be filled,
Its belly we have thrilled
With that remembered gold.

Inner Ring

By three, we bound it

With chains we made of stones.
Unrefined, its stone
Cannot withstand alone
The vastness it contains.

By three, we bound it

With rings we made of flames.
Unrestrained, its flame,
Were it left untamed,
Itself it would devour.

By three, we bound it

With rules we took from stories.
Unstructured, every stor y
Could hardly learn of glory.
Never break the rule of three.

GM Notes

Visage

- Visage Itself is a pair of Elementals, one Earth, and one Fire. Inseparable, they traveled through the vastness of space as a sentient comet, a "failed star", until the Dragons of the New World called them down. It crashed in the Tanglelight Forest, and eventually the local Fey settled nearby, creating Visage.

- Visage Itself was transformed into a Minor Seal of the Fabulist. The Dragons correctly deduced that such a creature and its journeys through the distant galaxies would attract the attention of the Fabulist. Using the fact that the Visage Itself was a "failed star", and contained a void of unfulfilled potential deep within, they set up a trap that the Fabulist couldn't resist. When he was studying the fallen star, Dragons sealed him within this void, and placed tripartite wards, binding him by a literary device, the Rule of Three.
