Midori is a carefree Tanuki living among the Fey of Cynosure, though she is careful to hide her ancestry from most others, preferring the form of a young Elf. She was encountered during Unknown, and this is also when she was reunited with her long-lost brother, Mizu, who was trapped in the form of swim fins that she unknowingly sold to Jirel

Midori and the rest of her family run a business in the city:

The business is called "As Above, So Below", as seen on hanging signs. The name is written in Sylvan, in such a way that 'As Above' could be read as 'So Below', depending on the point and angle of view.

Riding giant, floating fish packed with all manner of goods, the family is selling alchemical apparatus and magic which allow land dwellers to survive underwater, and aquatic denizens to survive on dry land. This enterprise is vital for proper functioning of Cynosure, bringing two worlds together.

While working as a merchant, Midori assumes the form of an Unknown of small stature, almost like a teenager.

GM Notes

Cynosure

- Midori's family lived within The Ōmagato Empire. When it collapsed, they went into hiding, and assumed their object forms to wait the apocalypse out. However, something went wrong with their magic, and they all got frozen in this state.

- Relatively recently, one by one, they started reverting back to their original Tanuki forms, but knowledge about which object is actually a living creature in disguise was gradually lost. It is not an uncommon occurrence for the family to unwittingly sell one of their own members as merchandise, who eventually "awakens", to the former object's new owner's surprise and dismay. However, the family handsomely rewards those who return its lost members back into its fold.

- The family's headquarters are also a Tanuki in disguise, who assumed a landscape form. They gave up trying to awaken their great-great-grandfather, but treat his new shape with reverence and respect.

- Soon after the first "awakenings", the family moved to Cynosure, where they have been running their business ever since. They overshadowed every other similar enterprise.
