The eldest daughter of a knight with no brothers she learned how to fight under the lessons of her father. Despite being groomed for the military leadership from birth she always felt her calling was elsewhere.

Her father being stationed at a costal town ment that she grew up around the ocean. She always felt close to it, but never realized why. She spent her free time either swimming in the ocean, hunting for shells and fossils along the coast, or drawing doodles in the sand. One doodle in particular, a spiral, appeared far more than anything else.

One day a newer knight came with orders from the king for her father. He was being relieved from this post and transfered further inland to a larger city. When Zia heard the news she panicked at the thought of leaving the ocean for good, so she hatched a plan. This new knight was not going to steal her father's job. She waited for him to head home for the night and ambushed him, shoving a dagger into his back.

It was that night she first heard the call in her head, praising her for her deeds. It told her to carve that spiral into her victim, then throw his body into the sea. She followed the orders, however she was discovered on the beach, blood still covering her clothes and she knew she had to flee.

She swam out into the ocean to avoid capture, but was caught in a riptide. It was then she had a vision. Her future was to be a servant of Ragadahn, eldest of the ocean lords.

Those rip currents delivered her down the coast, well out of the sight of her village. Knowing she could never go home she bounced from town to town, keeping her fighting skills sharp by getting in tavern brawls, and learning more about her new found powers from the god she now worshipped.

Eventually her past caught up with her and she was confronted by her very own father, trying to bring her in for justice. She was barely able to escape him and that's when she knew she had to leave. Her future life began through the portal in The New World.

Joining the Order of the Lily

First Landing

Zia shortly after making her way through the portal found a companion in Barnabas Fanshaw. They met at the Order of the Lily headquarters. Sensing that their interests might align they both join the order as white lilies, deplomats and peace makers, with a goal of striving to make the new world one of peace, through any means necessary.
