Pita never felt at home in the caves of his family. From his earliest days, he just felt....wrong there. In addition, his family noticed some strange things sometimes happened when he was around. As he grew older, he figured out he had certain....abilities, along with a voice that spoke to him about those abilities.
He had twin distance relatives who had left the caves of their family after discovering some mysterious glowing rocks. One day, he met them and one of them gifted him a glowing pink crystal as a "gift" of Yancivappu. He has no idea who Yancivappu is, but this item is precious to him.
In his early adulthood, the urge to leave his family's caves grew stronger, along with the voice compelling him to do so. This continued until he finally bade his family goodbye and left the caves, embracing his strengthening magical power.
Along the way, early in his adventures, he met Zia. The voice told him Zia was one he could trust, though he doesn't know why. The two didn't linger together for long, and Pita continued to explore, meeting both Dez and Injera along the way. His explorations led him to the portal and decided to enter.
