Born enslaved, like his parents before him, Baldric was subjected to a life of hard labor. Sensing greatness within himself and always seeking a way out, his elders discouraged any direct action by the community against their armored masters, who towered over them and wielded infernal magic to subjugate their halfling servants.

However, everything changed when the armored masters appeared, three mounted knights coming into their living quarters on a moonless knight. They read their decree: the community was to be broken, and Baldric's father among those removed. His mother holding him back, the knights approached to take Baldric's father, but he felt anger swell within him as he gripped a rock and threw it with all his might.

What should have been a feeble attempt at revolt became the first of Baldric's miracles: a star shot down from the sky, meeting the thrown stone, and the meteor struck where the knights stood. Nothing was left except shattered armor, and Baldric knelt down and touched the meteor, and felt the power flow through him. He was now Baldric, Caller of Stars.

However, this would not be the end. The community knew retribution would be swift. They gathered their meager goods, and Baldric piled as much food as would fit into the harvest cornucopia usually reserved for festivals. Fleeing into the woods mere hours later at the sound of approaching hooves, the community was without adequate food; through weeks of starvation, the second miracle manifested as the harvest cornucopia always found itself filled with nuts and fruits. He was now Baldric, Caller of Stars, Bringer of Harvest.

One night in the woods, the community found themselves caught in a trap as knights swiftly surrounded them. The knights announced they were here only for Baldric, and promised mercy if he surrendered for immediate execution. Baldric bravely stepped forward, accepting his fate. A knight, donned in grisly black armor, brought down his sword and Baldric was cut across his chest and fell to the ground. As the knight turned around, his third miracle manifested; Baldric's flesh knitted back together and the knights quickly approached. He was now Baldric, Caller of Stars, Bringer of Harvest, with Flesh of Stone.

To avoid certain doom, Baldric threw himself into a nearby river, still bleeding from the open wound. When he awoke, he found himself in the Bew World, transported there through sheer luck. Now, with his three miracles, he has steeled himself and vowed to fight for freedom.
