Full Report
We were tasked by Lothari, Cleric of Arshea, to take part in a ritual to restore the Heart Blossom's fading color. Stan, who was adapting to a new approach to problem solving, took a few notes and predicted some traits of the likely enemy we would be facing during the ritual: the embodiment of Dysphoria.
We arrive at the Millennium Woods, in the grove of the Heart Blossom, where Thanja began to have misgivings. Her instincts were, as usual, correct: the ritual took a turn and the party was transported to a twisted mindscape. Each of us found ourselves in another's body: Stan and Thanja had swapped souls, while I found myself in Luz's body. My own body went to Tetsu, and Luz was quite furious when he found himself in Tetsu's body.
We pushed through the hall of mirrors, depicting us deformed figures, till we arrived at a large room with a single aberrant figure in its center. The creature goaded us to no avail. Failing to cause emotional harm, it attacked us directly, initiating combat. It had resistance to all our attacks. Fortunately, we were all heavy hitters. As a spry Elven Monk, I rushed in and landed several solid blows, while Tetsu wielded my fire magic quite adeptly, walking directly up to the creature to subdue it.
The Magi duo took some time getting used to each other's bodies. Thanja missed her first shot as Stan, while Stan took his time getting into a combat ready stance. Once that was done, it was curtains for our foe. Luz charged in as Tetsu, slashing wildly at the creature with his sword. Stan landed a deep gash on the creature with Thanja's axe while Tetsu conquered its mind with my magic. Taking advantage of my allies' position, I landed a single devastating kick on the creature's exposed Ki center, setting it up for a killing shot from Thanja, which she struck, right on the mark.
With the battle won, we returned to the material world, a little more proud of our own identities and a little more grateful for each other's presence.
